Frequently Asked Questions

All The Answers For Those Burning Questions

How long does it take to match a family with a nanny?

Each case is different. Depending on the hours and type of care you need, the availability and interest level of nannies/sitters will vary. While our job is to handle the search process and find you a great match, we cannot magically create available candidates. On average, the search and match process takes 3-5 weeks, but there is no guaranteed time frame. There is a chance that your search could take more than a month.

This service is NOT suited for families in need of immediate childcare.

How much is your fee?

Thanks for asking! We're happy to share. Check out the 'Pricing' page for full details.

Our goal will always be to remain as affordable as possible, and our price point/payment structure allows us to work with families who are serious and committed to hiring great childcare. Please keep in mind that most Nanny Placement Services/Agencies charge upwards of $1,400 for similar searches.

What are the going rates for childcare?

Childcare rates can vary slightly depending on where you live! But it’s important to know what you should expect to pay when hiring childcare. Nanny Search LLC unfortunately cannot work with families who are not willing/able to pay market rates for their childcare, as it's unlikely that our search will result in strong candidates. As an owner who was a nanny for many years, it's also very important to us that childcare providers are compensated appropriately. Thank you for understanding!

  • Middle School Age Sitter | $12+ per hour

  • High School Age Sitter | $14+ per hour

  • Ages 18-20 | $18+ per hour | Dependent on experience*

  • Ages 20+ | $22+ per hour | Typically offered to candidates with a minimum of two years experience as a professional nanny and/or a college degree in Childhood Development or Education.

  • Career Nannies | Typically seeking $25+ per hour and some form of benefits (PTO/Sick Days), may also be seeking payment on the books.

What if you can't find us a nanny?

If we cannot find your family a match by your ideal start date and you'd like us to stop searching, we can simply go our separate ways. Regarding payment, you will have only paid your non-refundable deposit and do not owe us anything else.

That being said, we don’t halt on a search unless instructed by a family. We provide families with up to six candidates per search and continue to source until we hit that maximum number of candidates, or you tell us that you no longer need us. We ask that families keep us updated throughout the process, especially if details or circumstances change.

What if our nanny quits?

Great question! Although this is a tough position to be in, sometimes life gets in the way. It can happen to anyone and it's best to be realistic. So, here's what we do...

If it's been less than 45 days, we're here to help! Just let us know what is going on. We will repost for you and start the search for new candidates right away.

If your nanny/sitter quits unexpectedly between 45-90 days, we can redo your search for an additional finder's fee of $75.

If it's been more than 90 days and your nanny quits unexpectedly, we're happy to work with you again and help with another search but would need to process another non-refundable deposit and finder's fee. Due to the time that has passed, we would essentially be starting over from square one.

DISCLAIMER: Nanny Search LLC does not provide any type of binding contract. A nanny or sitter is free to leave any job, the same way your family is free to terminate a nanny or sitter if things don't work out.

What if we don’t like the nanny after hiring?

Interviewing a nanny versus witnessing them care for children with your own eyes are two separate things and it's definitely something to keep in mind. Sadly, sometimes people sound better than they turn out to be. In the event that you are unhappy with your nanny or babysitter, you are free to let them go and start your search over. Qualifications for a free "redo" search at no additional charge are listed below.

If you hired a nanny through Nanny Search LLC and they worked for you for 45 days or less before you decided that they weren't the right fit, we're happy to help you run a confidential for someone else at no additional charge.

If you hired a nanny through Nanny Search LLC and they worked for you for more than 45 days, we can redo a confidential search for you for an additional finder's fee of $75.

If it's been more than 90 days and you decide you don't want to continue using them for whatever reason, we're happy to work with you again and help with another search but would need to process another non-refundable deposit and finder's fee. Due to the time that has passed, we would essentially be starting over from square one.

If you hired an occasional sitter through Nanny Search LLC and used them only once or twice before you decided that they weren't the right fit, we're happy to help you search again for someone else at no additional charge.

DISCLAIMER: We do not handle the termination of nannies or sitters, this must be done by the family. There is NO binding contract or agreement for nannies/sitters through using Nanny Search LLC.

What are the steps to the search process like?

Check out the ‘Match Process’ section on the ‘Services’ page! Everything is laid out there. This service is best suited for families who are NOT in urgent need of a caregiver. Families should anticipate for the search, screen, and hire process to take at least three weeks minimum.

Do your services expire?

Yes, they do! Once you hire a nanny or sitter that we matched you with, we are no longer a part of the parent/caregiver relationship. Although, we would would love to hear from you about how things are going from time to time!

The finder's fee covers one nanny or sitter. If you need multiple caregivers for other positions (example: full-time nanny + date-night sitter) you would have to book our services again for an additional fee, as the search would be for a completely different role and requires finding another person.

Should any issues arise with a nanny or sitter that you hired through Nanny Search LLC, please refer to the other FAQ and/or contact us immediately!
