Every search is a little different! Timing depends on your schedule, location, requirements, and current nanny availability. I recommend starting your search 6+ weeks in advance to give us the best opportunity to find the right fit.

Need care sooner? Priority Search is available for 1–4 week timelines and gives your search increased sourcing priority. While I’ll always work toward your desired start date, placement by a specific date cannot be guaranteed.

Every candidate introduced through Nanny Search is personally screened and must meet my baseline requirements, including relevant childcare experience, the ability to care for children independently, professional references, and valid identification. Candidates must also complete required Pennsylvania clearances prior to employment.

Additional requirements—such as driving, infant experience, CPR/First Aid certification, or specific experience—are tailored to your family’s needs.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old to be considered for placement.

Yes! All nannies placed through Nanny Search must complete current Pennsylvania Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances before beginning employment.

Clearances are completed once a family decides to hire a candidate, rather than requiring every nanny to obtain new clearances during the initial screening process. Families are responsible for the cost and should reimburse their nanny once completed.

Nanny rates vary based on experience, schedule, responsibilities, number of children, and location. In today’s market, experienced nannies generally start around $25/hour, with rates increasing based on the needs of the position.

My goal is always to find the right match as efficiently as possible, but because every search depends on candidate availability, responsiveness, and fit, exact placement dates can vary. I’ll continue actively working your search until a match is made, you reach the candidate limit outlined in your package, or you decide to discontinue the search. If you choose to stop before hiring, your deposit remains non-refundable, but no remaining placement fee is due.

Sometimes a placement ends unexpectedly or simply isn’t the right long-term fit — and I’m happy to help you navigate what comes next!

If your placement ends within 30 days, I’ll conduct a replacement search at no additional charge. Between 30–60 days, a new search is available for a $100 fee. After 60 days, a new search will require a new deposit and placement fee.

Nanny Search facilitates introductions and placements but does not employ nannies or manage employment decisions between families and caregivers.
